Guys, please help me out here. I'm just baffled. Here's my most viewed cel, with 532 views:
http://deanna.rubberslug.com/gallery/inv_info.asp?ItemID=121924 .
Why? I just don't understand it. It's a freebie cel from a hentai I've never even seen. I don't think it's even a particularly good shot. Is something important happening in this scene? I'm just so confused!
It kills the view count of all of my other cels. The next most viewed cel has 283 views.

My husband's tour in Iraq is over!!!! He's in Kuwait right now, and he'll be leaving there in the morning, heading for Mississippi for about 10 days. After that he'll be home!

Add Comment (4 available)Anime and Family

I know that many of us here have this addiction that we so lovingly share with our families. As I have been an anime fan for a few years now, I have noticed how I've influenced my family.
Mom: Age 64
Likes cels. She was very interested in what they were after I bought one, and knows general information about them. Lived with me watching Toonami on the living room tv for a couple of years. Does not like anime or other animation.
Dad: Age 57
Generally clueless in the cel area. However, he liked every anime I showed to him. He was a fan of DBZ back when we watched it together. Went so far as to even watch the horrible quality movie fansubs I had back in the day. Likes animation in general, so anime wasn't a hard sell. He liked the 3rd Inuyasha movie, even though he hadn't seen any of the TV series. He would probably like BLEACH.
Kenneth (spouse): Age 30
He's been deployed since I started collecting, so he doesn't know a lot about them. He's a closet anime fan. He hasn't been honest with himself yet :). Has admitted to being a Gundam Wing fan. He likes the mecha, mostly. He even watched Gravitation and Nightwalker with me, although he didn't like Gravi. Likes other types of animation.
Joshua (son): Age 5
Really only likes Jubei-Chan. He's 5, so he hasn't had much exposure to anything else. He likes Sponge Bob, and older animation like Scooby Doo, Tom and Jerry, and Pink Panther.
Mikey (nephew): Age 15
Likes anime, but hasn't had a chance to see a lot. I don't see him very often, but when I do we're always watching something. Our favorite anime pasttimes are watching BLEACH (although he's only seen about 10 eps.), and watching Saint Seiya while making fun of it (no offence to SS fans, we love the show too!)
And that is how we are. I don't know if any of my other family members like anime. If they do, their closet fans.

I'm awful. I was at the big W tonight, when I spotted on the $1 DVD rack some "anime" DVD's. In all, I picked up 5 titles, including Kimba and a title called "Beauty and Warrior". What's so funny about it though is the 3 mecha disks that I picked up. These are Korean anime, which borrows heavily from Japanese anime. A quick search of the titles brought up some of the funniest stuff I've ever read.

So far, this is the only one that I've seen anything of so far, so it's the only one I'm going to comment on. This has to be the worst dub in existance. I will never, ever complain about dubs for the rest of my life as long as I don't have to hear a dub as bad as this one again. I would think that I'll probably be hearing just as bad with the other disks, though. And yes, it does sound like one person is doing all of the male voices.

Yes, I feel like I'm in the same boat as E! Luckily I didn't have to sell off any of my pretties to get it, but I have dwindled my savings down to nil, which means that I'll have to take a hiatus from collecting. Hopefully not a very long hiatus, though ;).
And what is my Dream Car, you may ask? It's a Mitsubishi 3000GT! Here's a pic of my car:

It's out of town, so I'm not actually going to have it until next Saturday. I'm so excited! I've wanted one since before I could drive!

You know, the kind for your computer desktop?
Do you know it's really hard to find good wallpaper for 1280x1024 desktops? All I wanted was a nice wallpaper of Sesshomaru, but nobody seems to make them that big *pouts*.
So, I did what any decent anime-lovin' girl who needs her Sessy fix would do. I made my own ^_^. It's not the greatest thing in the world, but it's free for use for anyone who wants it.

The whole mess started with my search for a Sephiroth wallpaper in celebration of Advent Children's upcoming release. Nope, couldn't find a decent Sephy wallpaper either, so I made one of those too (albeit, it wasn't as hard as the Sessy one).

Ok, so I was having severe light-haired bishie withdrawl. I've at least got a couple of wallpapers to switch to.
Now, does anyone know where I can get a good BLEACH wallpaper in 1280 ^_^?

Add Comment (3 available)*does the happy wishlist cel dance*
last modified: Thursday, September 01, 2005 (10:31:59 PM CST)
I don't think I've ever made an entry just about an update, but here goes!
I'm just so excited to receive this cel that I had to post it right away! I never added this particular cel to my wishlist for the simple fact that I thought this would be the impossible cel. A1 End. No other cel even remotely similar. And from a very dramatic scene, to beat all. Nope, I didn't think that it would ever happen.
Then, one day a wonderful person (Thierry) emailed me that they had some B't X cels for sale. I asked for scans, and to my surprise my new beauty was there.
And now he's here! *goes off to drool some more*
